RubyGems Adds New Maintainer Roleâ Previously, you either âownedâ a gem and could publish new versions or you did not and could not. The new âmaintainerâ role lands in the middle, letting people publish new versions of a gem without necessarily owning it. A good way to improve security on larger projects with numerous maintainers.
